The work of setting up 60 thousand square feet Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center has started on 80 acres of land at Anandapur of Habiganj Sadar Upazila at a cost of Tk. 80 crore. State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak laid the foundation stone for the construction of the center on Wednesday. Former Minister of Private Aviation and Tourism Advocate Mahbub Ali and Local Member of Parliament Advocate Abu Zahid were present on the occasion.

After laying the foundation stone, while speaking as the chief guest, the ICT State Minister said that this initiative has been taken to make the youth self-reliant and provide self-employment. Our policy is less talk, more action; and following punctuality. Not just in time; we want to work ahead of time. When the construction of the IT Park in Habiganj is completed, we will be able to create 3 million new jobs in the ICT sector in Bangladesh. We can increase the export income from ICT to $5 billion. This is how we will build a non-discrimination inclusive smart society. The foundation stone laying ceremony was held at the local Shilpakala Academy and was chaired by GSM Zafar Ullah.

Palak further said that if this training center is established, one thousand boys and girls of Habiganj will get direct employment opportunities every year. Apart from this, thousands of boys and girls will be trained directly and virtually. They don't have to go to Dhaka. No won’t need to chase after job.

Mentioning the names of some local successful freelancers, Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, those who have become entrepreneurs without running after jobs have created jobs for many others. That is why, in 2016, ICT advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy Bhai has provided ‘livelihood by training fish hunting without giving fish as a gift to anyone’. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina implemented Digital Bangladesh to develop our new skills to adapt to the rapidly changing world. Every service from birth to death has been made simple, accessible and corruption free by using digital technology.

Learning and Earning Project Director Humayun Kabir, Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center Establishment Project Director Md. Atiq, e-CAB Joint General Secretary Nasima Akhter Nisha and others were present on the occasion.
